Friday 29th November

Today we were driving to the Dordogne region of France which we've since learnt is more correctly known as the Perigord region. We had to pack and clean. We had a list of cleaning jobs and then the place was to be inspected so we needed to do it properly. With the kids help it all happened very smoothly and we were soon saying goodbye to Chantal. The owners of Red Shutters came for dinner one night with some relatives (9 of us) and we went for tea to Alison's mother's house -- a beautiful property overlooking the Vezere River. ... from 11th century forward. Most of the early ones were "updated" in the 15th and16th centuries. I don't even want to think about the plumbing for them.

We had neighbors from Spain, Germany, Netherlands and France of course. Harry took this picture and I hadn't even had a sip of wine...ha. We search for a new local red wine every day. It IS hard work.
