Once again we decided to eat in at the hotel - a few reasons being it was inexpensive, easy and also we have not had an opportunity to explore anything in this area other than Puy du Fou - that is probably the reason this hotel exists. ... Jane's favourite choice of restaurant but the meal was quite fine. We were taken to our seats at a table where four other French couples were already seated. We made a little conversation with the people at our table but as they had almost no English, the conversation was very limited. Family, children and grandchildren are good topics!!

Sunday morning in Blaye and early start at parking ticket expires at 08:08 and I wasn't sure if barrier would lift!

The alarm was set for 08:00 knowing we may sleep in following last nights excesses - we had booked and paid for the breakfast at Hotel Jeanne D'Arc so we were never going to miss that!!
We felt remarkably well for saying and both agreed that should be a one off!!! Too much time lost.

Cloudy start, but the forecast was good. After yesterday, dry was OK. But it warmed up and the sun came out. And we wore clothes - not t-shirt and shorts. The French are already in winter clothing - coats, scarves and boots.
