... This had several autumn fruits in it. It truly was delicious. We then had almond ice cream with quince and walnuts. Finally they brought us several chocolate truffles to pick from. We both nursed the bottle of red wine throughout the whole meal. We have never had anything like this before and it was a great experience. We truly treated ourselves. Eldon took pictures of each course served us.

... had a tower to climb, so we climbed it. It was very worth the effort as we were able to see the whole town from the tower which took 329 steps to climb. We also went into the bell tower and were able to see the church's sixteen bells. Some are very large, and heaviest weighs almost 7000kg. We then went on a walking tour of the town using a guidebook. intentions to make it out to the Black Forest, we failed miserably due to the late nights, so will have to save that for a return visit. We’re actually facing the prospect of arriving in Munich a little beered out…. Oh, and Freiburg is a lovely town btw.

A cool day with on and off drizzle. Time to move on from the Meuse and
head towards the Vosges and the National Parks of Alsace Lorraine, north of
Mulhouse. Thought about stopping in a campsite in the Lorraine National Park
but decided to keep heading south, through Nancy and on to the Ballons des
Vosges National Park. Good choice. Ended up at Camping les Jonquilles, with ...
