    ... After a celebratory drink we made our way back to the bus stop and managed to buy some tickets this time. The younger generation slept the whole journey , anyone would have thought they had done a triathlon. We stocked up at the supermarket with BBQ food and more beer, before returning back to base camp. As usual Duncan was in charge of an excellent BBQ and I wrongly thought we had bought too much food and drink. Evening games ended a very successful day ...

    ... and I would have to pay again. Anyway with Graham in charge "the operation tandem on roof" went very well and we got out of the car park and back to the tranquility of the campsite. Three tents now set up, on our pitch this is what you call "family camping" . Sarah and Duncan arrived at 10 30 Graham having picked them up from the airport.     ... France are mainly houses, castles and chateaus. I felt more at home here, looking at natural curves, the way the water bends through the rock and more silence, however, like most of the places in the us we'll go, there were a lot of people on well defined paths, which lost some of its appeal.     ... in the cold the balcony is a great place for people watching and sharing a platter of
    olives, cheese and wine.

    The christmas festivities are all also at our door - the pretty markets, music, people, light show on the buildings, carols, vin chaud, local foods, ice skating.

    ... Sevrier at a hotel near the lake. The scenery is stunning! Lake Lemac is surrounded by huge limestone mountains and the lake itself is calm and pristine. It’s the cleanest, clearest lake in Europe.

    We discovered our accommodation has self-catering facilities so opted to get something simple for dinner from the supermarket across the road. They didn’t have what we thought we’d like so decided to take a chance on a large tin of sausage ...
