... the double-decker-ish city, moving our way up the hilly part, until we found the famous cathedral (as all Swiss cities have) and castle-like buildings. We bought some roasted chestnuts on the street, and watched as the view of the Lake got cloudier and cloudier... Until by around 5pm it had started to snow quite heavily. We arrived at Annecy.

It has a lot of Christmas fun stuff like markets, ice skating and fairy lights.

We have already been ice skating.

I'm always improving at ice skating.

The toll charge was 40EU (approx. $75 NZD) but totally worth it to manage 500kms in 5 hours……!

We’re staying just outside of Annecy ...

... and Maude. Claire's dad was away in Poland on business. After dinner, Carole drove us back into old Annecy for an ice cream and a stroll on the magnificently lit narrow town streets. Annecy was breathtaking at night!  To get home, Carole drove a maze of horse-drawn carriage narrow streets, sometimes inching through passageways and cobbled alley ways. This was a great way to see the old town!  Once back in Seynod we collapsed into the campervan for a great night's ...

... narrow roads, with at one point a driver coming in the other direction having to back back in the other direction so we could pass each other - our side mirrors just millimetres from touching. With our GPS losing us only twice, we made it to Annecy only to discover that parking was going to be an issue. We found a street park on another road and paid for 2hrs and walked back to our hotel, only to have the receptionist tell us that check in was not for ...
