We decided it was appropriate to take a taxi to our last event of our wonderful Parisian vacation. Since there was not a taxi stand near our hotel, we asked the concierge to call one for us. Our last evening was spent on the Bateaux Parisien dinner boat, Crystal, cruising from in front of the Eiffel Tower to beyond the Ill St Louis and back past the Tower to the Statue of Liberty - a much smaller version of ...
... again just in time, another wow! Oh and of course, because it is me here, it is undergoing some construction, so some unsightly barricades etc are in the way. (I had suggested a few weeks ago that something would be slightly hindered due to construction, and of course my hunch came true!) never mind, it was still magnificent! A little history lesson, a lift ride to level 2, and many photos later, and a sunset, and we are exhausted. It was 10pm when. ...
... br> We went to Disneyland for two days and I went on:
- A giant rollercoaster. It had two giant loops.
- Big thunder mountain rollercoaster
- Watched the Disney parade
- Saw a huge Fireworks display
- Watched a car stunt show
- Saw a 3D movie with Michael Jackson called Captain EO
... I knew I wanted to climb the stairs again and that line was much shorter, only 20-30 minutes. My high altitude super powers came in handy and I quickly made it to the second level. The view was great but it was super windy so I didn't linger too long. Back to the apartment for an extra layer before dinner at a cafe just down the block on rue Montorgueil. I know it was too early to eat by Parisian standards but I usually eat early anyway. Time to finish the evening with a glass of wine back ...
... on a once in lifetime experience.
Our last evening in Paris was spent at a lovely little restaurant Mike found on Trip Advisor called Le Maison du Jardin in St Germain du Pres, walking distance from our hotel. The food was excellent, along with the location and service, and was a great way to finish our stay in Paris.
Back to the hotel to pack, grab a good night sleep and get ready for another train journey. This time to London on the ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel de Hollande Paris
I stayed at the Hotel de Hollande with my fiance a whole week during a holliday vacation in July of this year. The hotel was very enjoyable, clean and cheap. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable and service in the hotel was generally above average. Staff were very friendly, especially Stephene, the hotel owner, and his wife, who really went out of there way to help us out when my fiance lost his passport.
I spent 3 nights at Hotel de Hollande while on a business trip in Paris. I was impressed with the quality of the establishment considering the relatively cheap nightly rate.
My husband and I spent 6 nights at the hotel and we were overwhelmed by the friendly and helpful staff.
The breakfast was excellent, there are different dishes served daily during our stay.
The room is spacious, clean and well renovated. We will definitely go back and strongly recommend to all.
Great hotel in paris
i've came to paris 5 or 6 times this year, and i can tell you that this hotel is the best i've been to. The service is exelent, poeple are verry nice serving you, and for a 2 star hotel, it seems like a 3 stars.
I stayed here with my husband and 2 children (then aged 8 and 5) for 5 nights. The hotel is inexpensive. When in Paris you do tend to be out more than in, but be advised - you do get what you pay for!
Convenient and Good Value
We stayed at the Hotel Hollande for three days in mid June. It was very clean and the room was average for Paris - small but not tiny. We love the neighorhood - lively and central but noisy. It was very hot during our stay and there was no AC in the room which meant that we had to keep the windows open - noisy all night. The hotel also has no elevator above the 4th floor so we had to drag our heavy bags two more flights - a real pain. Otherwise, this is a good value for the money and I would choose to stay there on our next stay in Paris.
I stayed in this hotel with my husband and parents, on september/2005, and I can tell you is just a little hotel with the basics, yes, but nice service, very clean (and for me THIS is a very important fact)and very good placed. By night the neighborhood is ok, plenty of restaurants, cafes and so, not at all dangerous. You are just a few steps from the rue Lafayette so metro and buses are at hand, 10 minutes walking to the Opera and pretty close to the "center" of the action. True is, this hotel needs some paint and new carpets in the halls, but the rooms are ok, all with bathrooms and for the noise, not as much as for discomfort....besides, you are on vacations, you dont spend to much time in the room, the importan thing is the city!
My husband and I traveled to Paris with a friend in October, 2004 and stayed at Hotel De Hollande because it was affordable and the Web site made it seem like a nice hotel. The Web boasts a newly remodeled hotel; although the lobby is beautiful with hardwood floors and a nicely decorated dining room, no updating was done to the rest of the hotel. The rooms are dated with broken furniture and no "extra amenities".
