... Every time we heard the Village People singing YMCA, we looked for the nearest nationality and had to choose an appropriate drink. For the Dutch you could choose maybe Grolsch or worse, Advocaat, for the French, wine or maybe champaigne, for the Russian, vodka and so on. Fortunately, the drinking part was only theoretical or we certainly wouldn't have made it, given the number of times we had to walk through the streets waving our ...

The third day of the march is called the seven hills walk. I have never actually managed to count the hills, partly because most of them only constitute gentle slopes and partly because there are about 9 gentle slopes and two minor uphills that could realistically be described as hills. ... was! Anyway, they had special buses from the train station to W. When we arrived there was police everywhere. The old part of town was sectioned off and we wandered around to find a place for breakfast. We had eggs on bread ( as apparently there are no such things as toasters here ) and traditional pancakes that were awesome! See the pick of the pig fest. Sarah arrived and it took us an hour or so ...

... no headwind and for a section we wore just our tshirts with pants to of course! But it has been weeks since my arms have seen the light of day. Perfect! The start of our day began with a visit to the town of kleve. We had arrived lateish last night so we didn't really feel like going out again, especially considering the semi complicated security system at the hostel. The main town square was very pretty. In the middle stood a fountain with a statue of a goose trying ...
