So on October 30 - we visited several wineries - tasted various c******nay types - visited a family owned winery a purchase a few bottles of pouilly fuisse - my favorite - had a great dinner at the B and B
October 31 - visited Cluny and the Abbey - the revolutionaries in 1790 destroyed the most beautiful abbey -- we seen this a lot throughout France - we then went to a 1600 chateau - beautiful visit.

The weather did not cooperate today with heavy rain so we had a leisurely breakfast. Isobelle makes her own jams of various types and fruit comports as well as a type of quince paste that goes with goats cheese . That, on top of croissants, filled us up for the day.

century and has been in the de Murard de Saint Romain family since 1761. There is a 12th century chapel, wine making buildings, an orangery, a dovecote, a vegetable garden, large
fields, woods and a vineyard. Isobelle Murard runs the chateau by herself with help from her nephew. Her husband, whose project it was to take in paying guests, died at age 50 only two years ago.

And then a most interesting discovery...a large, dusty corner of the market is devoted entirely to the sale of live animals, primarily poultry, but several plump lapins (yep, fuzzy little bunny rabbits) also in their cages, awaiting the fates! Row upon row of the above-named La Bresse chickens (in their live state) and their lowly brothers, the regular poulets, geese, canards, ...
