... Efteling in Southern Holland. By being in the middle of nowhere there is a pretty good chance that you will stay at their hotel (which we did), the bonus of which is you can park in the hotel and go into the theme park from a back entrance. Hotel guests are also let in early so we snuck in at 10.45 and went to what we thought looked like it would be a busy ride - a massive old double wooded roller coaster. ... so not surprising that we found one there. Breda is not that big therefore we were quickly clear of it and into the country. The farms here had lots more small crops, such as veggies; cabbage, carrots, garlic and onions. Lots of animals, including deer and the cutest miniature goats we've ever seen. Day 3 4:30am wake up call, because jet lag wasn't enough. Chef in a box breakfast - does cornflakes with warm milk and a ****** granola bar washed down with warm orange juice really count as a chef in a box? That being said, yesterday was awesome. Today I started purifying the product from my first reaction. While it didn't go to completion (ie lower than expected yield) we'll purify it and the starting product and see how it went. Tomorrow I'll be running a column using a column robot to separate all the fractions in my reaction mixture.

... to stop by the Jan de Groot bakery near the train station to pick up a couple of Bossche bollen, a local specialty of Den Bosch. A Bossche bol is a pastry puff filled with a fist-sized glob of whipped cream and coated in chocolate. This is not health food, but it possibly rivals the stroopwafel for the title of Nature's Perfect Food.

I don't know how Dutch people manage to stay so thin.
