... that ferry workers in Calais were having a protest and decided to block the road and tracks with tires and then set said tires on fire because what's a protest without incendiaries? To complicate matters the frustrated migrants of Calais took advantage of the general chaos to try and make their way to England and asylum.

... in the name of research, of course, we began to learn about local Belgian gastronomy by going into several artisan chocolate shops. The kids were thrilled when each shop offered a free sample. ... as it was mostly behind clouds!

Went walking up behind the conference venue to Royal Palace, Parc de Brussels and a few other random amazing buildings, finishing up at a waffle place (same on I went to on day one) and Frits with Mayonnaise from the place next door.

The aim of today was to make sure we had enough chocolate to bring back - don't worry kids - we definitely do. Bought a few other bits and pieces.

... I bought a bag of mixed white, milk and dark chocolate. Everywhere you looked you saw a chocolate shop so it was a little hard decided which one to go to. After that we went back to the main plaza to meet the rest of our group. At 2:30 p.m we headed over to a museum. We spent about 1 hour and 45 minutes there. ... We then asked the bartender how to get to central station so we could activate our eurail passes. After some vague directions (go left and then up, up, up) and an hour we finally found the station. We went to the international travel center to activate our passes.
