We arrived at Dan and Andrea's place yesterday around noon and enjoyed a nice lunch of soup and an Italian pizza at the local (and newly renovated) Italian restaurant a short walk away. Dan and Andrea are both working full time and so we took the afternoon yesterday and this morning to explore around the town. We picked up our VW Golf station wagon this afternoon. ... city with lots of history. Standing on their balcony, you can see into Belgium in on direction and to Germany in the other. Quite a unique little corner of the Netherlands. We were treated to wonderful home-cooked Dutch cuisine and had a fun time catching up after some ten years since they visited us in Canada.

... and lunchless. Eight miles later we arrived at the Oirschot campsite at our lunchtime (2pm) to find that the site was technically closed. However, the "babysitters" were summoned by intercom and after some mis-communication they let us in for €18. It's a smallish but well-organised Dutch site. I'm writing this at 11pm, aching all over, with just an hour left of being 38 (!) chilling listening in the blue LED lights of the Dub ChilloutBus.. We both felt cold in bed last night and woke up to a ground frost and ice in the beer bottle Lyn had left outside. It had been -1.
