We have spent the last two days exploring Nice. It is one of the three cities that make up the French Riviera (other two are Cannes and St Tropez) it has been nice to have some warm weather finally. Finally, with the basics in order we head via bus into Nice and explore the city. I enjoyed walking through the town and people watching on the Promenade. Old Town was my favorite as it had a lot more character than the touristy feel of the Promenade. The pasta, thank god, was the primary redeeming factor, mainly in that it was a known quantity. ... to. At the bottom of the street is a beautiful old square with huge fountain in the middle that is actually very soviet in appearance. We found a great café, Café Marche, in the old quarter that we headed back to for our daily espresso and they were kind enough to give us complimentary rose and violet flavoured meringue’s.
We stayed at Hotel Pastoral and I would recommend it to anybody going to Nice. It was more of a budget Hotel than a hostel as the name ...
