1 Avenue Thiers Nice, French Riviera - Cote d'Azur, Provence, France, 06000
Bonjour! We're currently in Nice. We arrived here yesterday evening after a long day of traveling. We had originally planned to come straight here from Florence, but we decided at the last minute to stop in Cinque Terre, located on the coast of Italy. I took a day trip there when I studied abroad in Florence and really wanted Nina to see it. After finally getting our act together on Tuesday morning, we made it to the train station in Florence and hopped on a train to La Spezia (where you have...

ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilman... upon me it feels very strange and somewhat daunting. But to my knowledge no one has ever died from teaching children so I am sure I will survive.... My Amazon book order should arrive soon to inspire me. I am really looking forward to discovering the 100 things you can do with a paper plate. Life is never going to be the same!!
More when I start travelling...
... messy or smelly with is good since it's my job to clean Theo out. I have coined the phrase "Feeding Theo" as a euphemism for going to the loo which Kim thinks is gross!! But I'm sure she'll be using the term in no time ;-) Gas... not bad flatulence We filled up our two 4.5kg gas bottles before we left London. The rest of Europe do not use UK calor gas bottles so at some stage we will have to buy a EU standard gas bottle - the only standard bottle is Campingaz which is ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74... meager with dinners, eating whatever the roast of the day was at the hostel for 6.50 or slightly dodgy pizzas, which were sometimes nice, and sometimes not. So yeah, nice to treat ourselves.
Our stay in the hotel was was lovely and we've decided to try and treat ourselves before we get to that shabby state again. Its amazing how quickly you forget the basic luxuries; one bed without a seam or a bar in the middle, one doona to share rather than two small single ones, a bathmat and ...
... or so. That night we had a plate of shepards pie. It was tasty. I had too much sangria at once, and peaced out to bed at 10pm. Graeme stayed and mingled.
The next morning, it seemed that he knew everyone. Well, alot of people lol. We ate the free breakfast, and headed downtown to nice. We walked along the shores of the sea, the rock beaches, and watched the tide. Then we went to the market and ate the biggest blackberries I have seen in my ...
Got up early on the 20th, Parker and I went to get baquettes while Alex slept. Checked out and took train to Nices; Train gorgeous as it hugs the ocean6best way to travel in the world is the bus and train.
Got to the Novatel Hotel. Not in the heart; but has a pool and is a true triple. Room not ready so we put on our suits and head for beach. Tram one block away-electric and very efficient, costs only one ...
... St Tropez where all the celebs hang out on private boats. We were actually disappointed; the long and expensive ferry ride did not really seem worth it. We did however check out the expensive boats lined up in front of the restaurants, and found ourselves swimming in what we think was a private beach. They next day we made ourselves a great breakfast of ...
Nice, Provence, France jnjah... and played cards. I suck at cards as usual, lost handily. After a few days in Cassis it was time to move on to Nice. On the way we stopped at Cannes and saw the sea side village that turns into a showcase for the Hollywood elite one week a year. It's really a nice place, but to be honest, I'm not sure what the big deal is. The entire town is painted with large murals of blockbuster movie scenes, stars, other Hollywood glitz. We had lunch and had a beer as it was ...
