... off to Amsterdam!
Our first day involved a lot of walking around the old city, and doing a hop on hop off bus tour! We managed to see most of the city by doing the bus tour and then hop off and look at lots of different sites along the way. We got to take a tour of a diamond place where they make hand made diamonds with over a hundred faces or something (apparently very cool) - Hannah was in her element, impressing the tour ...
Amsterdam and last full day in this lovely city.
We spent all day at the Rijksmuseum which has the largest collection of Dutch paintings in the world. It was the best museum we have ever seen.
Purpose built in 1885 and well run and magnificent to view such Dutch favourite artists as Rembrandt ,Vermeer ,Avercamp, to name a few.
The building itself is also beautiful and it it well run and easy to visit.

We were greeted at the Lodge with a champagne toast - outside, on a dimlit, ruggard sidewalk in front of the hotel. Colonel Ayo handed ...
... although it has a few) but it is this edge that has made it a must see place in Europe! It was the start of our European adventure, with a cheap car hire and a tent, we were set. Our first mistake was pitching our tent next to a contiki tour, who seemed to have the energy to stay up giggling and singing all night and be off early in the morning. We spent our first day scouring camping shops to find a stove, and gas for it, which ...
We went on a bike tour with an outfit called Mike's Bike Tour. There were 12 people (from 4 countries) in this tour.
The tour started at 11am. We were first given a brief history of Amsterdam and the do and don's of riding a bicycle in Amsterdam. The first 15 minutes were spent in the harrowing streets of downtown Amsterdam before we were in the countryside . It started to rain as soon as he hit the countryside and it continued for the next 4 hours.
