    What a mission trying to find the car rental place Stephen and I walked for nearly an hour most of it in circles trying to find the place. Eventually found it and sorted out the car then had to try and negotiate the roads back to the hotel,made it back to the hotel checked out and loaded the two tonnes of suitcases into the back and we were off. The rental man said don't go into these streets as you get charged a toll, so ...

    ... sometimes you get both in the same vista - petrol stations are good. Not only is the fuel cheap - 60p a litre - but you get your windows cleaned as well. There was only one BP place that didn't, so he didn't get a tip. Well not a monetary one anyway, - servants are always handy. No laundry done for the last 6 weeks and it must be great to have a little chap to pick up the leaves a couple of times a week. And wash the car if he's not too ...

    ... day continues...harder work on return locks as no Mary and Tom to share load. Lots of fun still. Chatting to other barge drivers, sharing locks and hence some of the work, but generally pretty quiet, despite Badger saying earlier all boats were fully booked!
