Dazzler Tower San Martin
Travel Blogs from Buenos Aires
This city is full of history, culture, and ambience. Started out with a long walk through the cemetery in Recoleta in a thunderstorm no less. The place was full of art, family stories, and historical figures such as Eva Peron, past presidents, and figures from Argentina's history. There were cats everywhere, and lots of mysteries. This cemetery is …
Enjoyed my king size bed, duvet and heating but not the lateness noise goes on nearby – gotta get with the hours here – sleep later and rise later or else I'll miss out.
Had another good breakfast with fresh cookies & OJ before heading out for a long walk – didn’t really plan it that way but sometimes that is the best way! Went to check out a Spanish school – need to have a final go at getting the past ...
... idea. But if you can, just go. Bring a rain jacket and you may want to tie up your hair. That is all.
One of my favourite districts of the city was La Boca, the once port and resultant den of iniquity of Buenos Aires. Not quite as glamorous and classy as Recoleta or Palermo but certainly full of character. When the BA port was moved to Puerto Madero, the sailors and immigrants abandoned La Boca, as did the prostitutes. La Boca became poorer ...
... all down the streets so we visited that, dotted all along the markets were bands with people dancing the tango. It wasn’t for tourists, it was just normal weekend life for the locals. Great! We also went back here in the night time to go out for a meal and watch a tango show which was lovely to see.
Palermo – This is more of an upmarket section of town with lots of shops and artisanal markets
... wanting to discover more of this city, but alas, for us, the South is calling. We did not come here to shop, although Jenny might beg to differ, we merely came to BsAs as a jumping off point to get to Patagonia. We never did find our empanadas today. By the time we made it out for lunch, we stopped at the first decent place we came across but they had no empanadas there, so we will have to search for them in the South. This ...

Beautiful hotel but could do with some minor improvements. Things like suitcase stands so you don't have to put your suitcase on the floor. Good breakfast, pool area, location, and location.

Great hotel, great staff
A very comfortable, well priced hotel, new and clean, with attentive staff and comfortable rooms, good service. Laundry just across the road, bang in the centre of Buenos Aires with all the main attractions reachable on foot. Of course, in a big city you have to accept the noise of traffic, small price to pay.
A group of us (6) just came back from Buenos Aires and we stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. We got an incredible deal from American Express. The basics: modern style, good breakfast with eggs, sausage, cold cuts, various pastries and fruits. High-speed Internet access in the lobby and in the rooms via cable-based connection. Car park below. Everything was clean, plenty of channels on TV, safe in room, bathroom was ample with nice shower/tub and bidet. Bed and pillows were comfy. Great restaurant in corner and hotel is close to many pedestrian/shopping streets.
Great hotel, service and clean room. Free interent, and a great breakfast. Close to all shopping areas in B.A.

Stayed here in November 2006, but didn't see any evidence of the previous writer's experiences. The location is excellent, only a few metres away from the Florida Street shopping malls and San Martin Square.
This hotel is great ... unless you are a woman. And, unless you are a man looking for some good prostitutes. Beware women, once you get to this hotel and walk down the block you will easliy begin to suspect that you are in a cabaret license/prostitute neighborhood. This hotel will make you dislike the city and make you realize that there is more to this beautiful city than a neighborhood filled with conieving people and men in search of a good prostitute.
Great choice! I loved this hotel! Great location in the heart of the city and in walking distance to everything...or at least a short inexpensive cab ride away. The hotel has a european/scandanavian feel, meaning minimalist, furniture very low to the grown, but yet very modern with an aire of chic. Again, not cluterred with a lot of decoration, in fact, there are no pictures/wall hangings in your room. The hotelis very modern and a nice medium size, therefore, you get great individual service. Free internet is an absolute plus; they have two PC's in the lobby. The included in your rate breakfast is good, but it is the same breakfast; a bit of variety would have been nice after staying a week. The staff was absolutely amazing! Specifically, Diego, Guadalupe, Paricio, Osvaldo, Juan, and Edwardo. In addition, the restaurant/bar staff was also wonderful! The staff was great in helping me plan my daily activities and dinner; they really made me feel warm and welcoming. I was in BA celebrating my birthday and to my surprise the hotel sent a bottle of champagne and a a dessert to my room as a celebratory birthday gesture; I thought that was very nice, kind and considerate!
This was our second visit to BA and we found Dazzler Tower by far the best hotel we have stayed in so far (others being Principado, NH Crillion, NH Florida). Its in an excellent location - an easy walk to the shopping of Galerias Pacifico and many good restaurants and bars in the surrounding streets.
Less impressive than web site
The web site promises much more of a cool design hotel than it is in reality. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is nice, but not that nice. The feeling upon arrival was that it is more average. The reception staff is not that super friendly, the little gym not open in the morning, but the rooms are good and fresh. Also good with the free internet access at a couple of terminals in the entrance. Be a bit cautious of pick-pocketers though. While doing a group-checkin, one of our group members had his rucksack stolen. Admittedly, one should keep an eye on one's belongings, but still...
Great location, not as pretentious as it looks!
Just returned from a 4 night stay at dazzler tower. Hotel in a great location for wandering round the city.
Not far from Subway stations.
The hotel literature and photos I looked at before my stay had me worried about it being a bit pretentious.
The room was large and immacutely clean, breakfasts were fine, 2 free internet terminals at reception.
The only thing that let down my stay were the reception and lobby staff - not very friendly.
Was also very strange having breakfast with a security guard watching over the diners.
No idea what that was all about.
Would definitely recommend dazzler tower if you are visiting BA.
Excellent Steak House Restaurant across the road as well!
