The doctor wasn't really encouraging, but did say he really expected Charlie to be gone 5 years ago-glad he didn't place any bets on it! He said if it were any other patient he would not be giving much hope, that Charlie on 'paper' looks very bad, but in person he is much better than his records would suggest! ... by Night. This event happens 3 times a month where the entire canyon is lit with 1000s of votive candles at night and minimal people allowed in. Tickets can be purchased day of at the visitors center. I am going to try and convince others on my tour to join me to limit the taxi fare on the return journey. ... the trip was awesome. I can't think of a thing that was worthy of even a complaint. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip great and affordable. I know for Karla and I, going to Florida, Alabama, and Ohio would not have been possible if we had to fly with the 4 of us. Road trips, for me anyway, are about spending time with the people you love. So, I officially dubb this trip a SUCCESS!

... a steep hill. I recommend you do not take the short cut to the restaurant, sure it might be 20 minutes instead of an hour getting there, but you just go UP that steep hill you come down at the end. Even if you are out of shape, trust me, its worth it. Do the long way. This excursion took about 2 hours and was done as soon as we got there.
