... some time to reflect, I realized that I would like to see even more of Germany, wouldn't mind spending more time in Riga and Istanbul, and three days in Tallinn was perfect.

After an 11+-hour fight from Istanbul to Chicago, a 1.5-hour bus ride to Milwaukee, and a 2-hour car drive home, I arrived in Green Bay on Tuesday evening around 10:30 pm.

I was really fortunate to be able to see Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque before I departed Istanbul. I arrive at HS right at 9 am, and because of time, only could spend about 30 minutes there. When I was leaving HS, I went to buy a glass of fresh pomegranate juice ...

... It's been an honor prepping the team with Gayle and I'm excited to meet everyone in country.

Two of our team members are leaving a couple of days early, two of us will be flying from Appleton WI and the rest of the team will be flying with our host Brian and Gayle Hale.

... layover in Istanbul (Turkish Airlines has unbelievably low fares lately) and then on to Cologne, Germany. A few days will be spent in Cologne, eating schnitzel with noodles and drinking kolsch beer, followed by a short flight to Riga, Latvia. The main purpose of this is to get to Tallinn, Estonia, by bus. I will spend a few nights here, followed by a long layover in Istanbul where I will actually get to leave the airport this ...

... pad up. That's ridiculous. However it is quite interesting as an ex rugby development officer to see the stats. I liked Green Bay, and I would at this time like to thank Erinn, Bryan, her mum Mary, her dad Pat and her extended family for making me feel so welcome and looking after me so well.
