... where to sleep for the night. Not having a car in Ireland made getting around very difficult. Due to the north being part of the U.K and the south as the Republic of Ireland the transport system became very difficult. Dublin was used as a centre point to get to all parts of the country which meant we spent a lot more time travelling than we had anticipated. Aside from the public transport I fell in love with everything else in Ireland: the Guinness, the people, ...
... basement level where they have a full out supermarket! We get some prepared food for the kids (chicken and potatoes) as well as a lunch for Jim since he didn't order for at the cafe. We head over to the St Stephen's Green park across the road to find a bench. The park is busy and filled with birds. We had arranged for the taxi to come back, and as we only had a short time before the train left, we asked him to take ...
... and had our first Guinness for the weekend. For a non beer drinker it wasn't too bad. We re-joined our group at 9 and headed off to the temple bar area.
This area is tourist mad and very crazy. We jammed into one pub for a drink & then wandered into the centre area where there were people drinking and dancing and cheering in the streets. It was mayhem. According to our walking tour guide the next day, it's also the place for the most expensive pints - watch out.
