... br> We also saw the smallest national park in the world, it is so tiny and sits on an island between two roads! So if I hadn’t done this tour, I wouldn’t know about half of what I saw on this tour so I am really glad I did it. Right at the end though, this guy clearly high on crystal meth or something started to get aggressive with our guide, and it didn’t seem to bother him that there were 50 people plus on this tour! It was tense for a few ...

      Day 10: on to Portland

The Plan: drive 80 miles to Portland on the I26. Stay at Riverplace Hotel. Have lunch at Adina and visit Powells Books What really happened- we get up early and set off for Portland. Eventually we are seduced by the Golden Arches (they are even worse here than in the UK - at least ...

Portland does seem to have a lot of homeless or homely people. The donuts were good but we don't think it was worth all the hype.

Tomorrow we leave for either a 10 mile, 10 falls hike or towards the west coast to drive down I-101.

Oregon is the only state in the United States and possibly the world to have 0% tax. We arrived in Portland to see Gavin's cousin Keshini who was working there, as well as a bit of retail therapy (not that Shinal hadn't done enough shopping!). After a brief look around ...

We made it out of Ashland by 9:00 (I of course let the kids know that my dad made sure we were on the road by 8 AM on these trips) Trevor offered to drive and ended up giving me the day off. It was a beautiful drive home. Only had to take 3 nitros; not really, he's a good driver. Well it was a fun trip and I can't wait till the next one. I'm not sure I'm going to miss all the sleep talking ...
