... For the first 20 mins it rained so hard it became a problem seeing the road and other traffic , the worse rain I have ever seen , even worse than what we have seen in Africa but then we are in American and the rain drops have to be bigger :-) Anyway it stopped suddenly and as we came to South Carolina out of the hills and onto the plains.
Nice to be out of the trees ...

This is a historic site. There was a Revolutionary War battle fought here and also a Civil War battle fought here. This plantation house was used in the movie "The Patriots" with Mel Gibson. This was the home his family lived in for the movie. I've been here before with my mom so some of you have probably already seen some of these ...

... them, so we'll have to wait and see. Aunt Bunky will be celebrating her 90th Birthday this summer and if mom wants to help her celebrate, we will bring them this way.

Arrived back to Asheville about 5:30 and as we were driving Northwest again, we could feel the temp drop and see the wind pick up. The forecast for tomorrow is sunny and warmer, hopefully no wind. We're planning to visit Biltmore Estate tomorrow and part of Tuesday, then Wednesday it's on the road again.
