The Land Of A Million Lakes

A travel blog entry by christence

We left Winnipeg all rested up. Stayed in a nice hotel that was very clean and very pet friendly. We were headed to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park in Thunder Bay. We saw a little of downtown Winnipeg and then headed on our way. We joined up with the Transcanada Hwy at the Royal Canadian Mint Museum, but we knew we couldn't spare the time to stop there. We broke into the Canadian Shield about ...

Noise at campground - LOUD....we found a lovely site between a roaring waterfall, train track, and 2 highways - what a dream come true - it wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the lack of amenities (bathrooms nearby - what's that?) and killer mosquitoes! We kept expecting to see sea lions hauled out on the rocks! Back on the trail there were lots of pretty berries and mushrooms. The rocky crevasses house ...

... Seriously, it's worth coming to Thunder Bay for!! Now we are fed and full. There is an island in Lake Superior called Sleeping Giant because it looks like an enormous man laying on his back in the water. I am dreaming of sleeping as soundly as that stone giant, surrounded with today's images of Lake Superior. zzzzzzz.
