    Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September

    Despite a promising forecast, the morning dawned cloudy and it looked as if it would become more overcast as the day progressed. Our cabin-mates, Vernon and Martin, arrived from Mississippi just on 1000hrs and after they had settled into our lake-side cottage, we returned to the apron to continue to greet other new arrivals.     ... a flight of 2:45 hrs, the towered airport gave us directions to our parking place to the side of one of the FBOs. Meeting Mike the manager and his son Parker inside their hangar, Patrick was soon whisked off to get a hire car while I went to work to ready the 'plane for tying down, something normally completed together.     Mostly a travel day today ending in Owensboro, KY Lots of time in the car but with good company.... And an onboard DVD player the drive was a pleasant one. Tomorrow we get deeper into the South and our days get busier for awhile. Stay tuned for our update after we visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash museum and the Stones River National Battlefield.

    Drove 320 miles from Columbia, MO to Santa Claus, Indiana. As we were driving through St. Louis, we stopped at the Arch, which was right near the St. Louis Cardinals baseball stadium. Briefly visited the museum under the Arch, and then had lunch at Caleco's.
