Days Hotel Surfside Beach Resort/Myrtle Beach
Travel Blogs from Myrtle Beach
We managed to take off on our 2014 Winter trip on Friday. We spent the night in West Virginia and luckily picked a place to stay south of a region affected by a chemical spill. We made it to Myrtle Beach last night. Went to church and Costco, then spent the afternoon walking the beach and enjoying the sun and warmth.

Is Velveeta more important then those folks I talked about earlier, NO, is it worthy of National news, maybe, just not front page. Do I have a good stock of that heavenly, creamy, oh so tasty yellow brick of cheese like product, yes. I'm thinking “this is my time”, I am the “guy” and I have plenty of product. Anyone who did not or does not get a brick, call me, I'm loaded.
We had a great time at Sue and Helen's. We were able to spend some time with some of Helen's family, Janet, Willem, Catherine, Kace, Rowan and Georgia. As usual it was party central and lots of fun. This morning we had coffee at Janet and Willem's and hit the road with absolutely no plan! It was great just driving south not even knowing where we were going. We decided to head east to water and landed in Surfside SC in time for a long beach walk before ...
... and had lunch of Oysters and Crabcakes at Dirty Don's. Yummo!
Next day we tried out our fishing skills on the Apache Pier but only caught a few whiting, too small to keep. Good fun. Pulling out of here tomorrow, heading to Savannah, Georgia. Ed played 9 holes of golf today at Arcadian Shores just across the road.
Lots of long walks on the beach whilst here. Have enjoyed our stay here.
Our next stop is Georgia.
Keep forgetting to ...
Met up with the guys again in Georgetown, SC.
We stayed here for a few days and the boys got the boat ready to jump offshore. From here, they went to Fernandina Beach.
I drove from here to Charlestown, and then to Fernandina Beach to meet them.
