... around and hopefully find some old historic houses, perhaps Antebellum houses, to photograph. We headed for "downtown" but that turned out to be kind of old and run down. Not what I had expected. And it was not in the best part of town. So we thought it best to just head for our hotel and get settled for the night.

Tomorrow, Tallahassee. We have not visited our own state capitol, so that is definitely on the agenda for ...

Bright sunshiney morning greeted me at 0900 when the phone rang to see if I was staying over another night. Fer chrissakes! Check out is 1100. Call me at 1059 to ask this question. I grit my teeth, politely say no and ask them not to call me again, and tell the maids not to knock on my door. I want peace and quiet with my green and yellow room with the rusty fridge!

... to 6 stops on the food tour, all local, all types including a coffee shop, supermarket, bar, and bakery. Our favorite was a maple boudin (kinda like sausage) biscuit. Serina liked it so much she became one of those people who takes pictures of food.

Then we stopped at Vermillionville to listen to their weekly Cajun jam session. It's a really tight community!

It's been a fair while since I have posted. Albany Georgia was great. Rob has the greatest family! We stayed with his cousin Greg. What a kind and gracious man. He drove us around for two days. Showing us the sights. He also taught me how to cook on a green egg. Now I feel confident to go home and fire mine up. We may even have to upgrade to a larger one. ... all at our age. It's still a fun book to read. We called a couple of Passport America places and finally find one that will have us for the night. We end up at Poche's Fish-N-camping and RV Park in Breaux Bridge, near Lafayette, LA. When checking in the owner refers to the pond that we are backed up to as the fish and gator pond. Serious? We have gators in the pond just 3 feet from our bumper? We will not be going to the bathroom in the dark ...
