... at a roadside stand called Hebert's for some boudin and some cracklings. Boudin is a Cajun sausage. Cracklin's are fried pig stomach. We didn't like either, but we can say we tried them.

... 30 minutes to get out of it. We drove straight on through, and did not stop. We then got off I-10 and went the back way into Louisiana. We went through Port Arthur, Texas, and into Louisiana after crossing a high and scary bridge. It was the Martin Luther King memorial bridge. Angie had her eyes closed. Left West Monroe by 11am. Arrived in Broussard about 3:30pm with two dog stops including one in Opelousas for a fish sandwiches from Burger King for a late lunch. It was raining but we found the La Quinta easily. They let us check in a little early and gave us treat bags for the dogs!

We drove to St.Martinville that afternoon and then on to New Iberia as it was getting dark. Lots to do ...
