      ... outside of Tucson to check out the cacti and petroglyphs in Saguaro national park, we stumbled across a delightful zoo/botanical garden/cave/aquarium called the Desert Museum, and were quite glad we did as it not only gave us a great foundation in the animals, vegetables and minerals of the desert but also gave us an opportunity to see some really excellent animals up close, including a barn owl and a mountain lion. Movie Watched: (none) Highlights: - nice breakfast in the hotel (partly comp'd) - nice drive along Pecos River in town (sadly didn't notice it the night before) - my N.P. annual pass worked to pay for cavern tour - very cool self-guided tour of Carlsbad Caverns - meeting construction flag man and giving him a soda - nice information desk at Guadalupe Mountains N.P. - very cool Frijole Ranch where we enjoyed lunch by Kendra - another great dune sledding outing at White Sands ...

      ... crossed from Central to Mountain time. As we approached El Paso we could see agriculture closer to the Rio Grande, a.k.a. Rio Bravo del Norte in Mexico which is very close at this point. I even saw a Border Protection Point on the other side of the highway.
