... draw the panels down over all the windows producing a night time ambiance.
Consequently we lost any notion of time...a timeless cocoon.

The progress continued West flying between Sapporo and Hakodate, Japan. It seemed at moments that we were flying over the East Sea in a race with the sun to Seoul, Korea and the sun won. When or where exactly did we come up a day short, can't say...but ...
Atlanta Airport, Georgia, United States gonzdom... The kids saw a truck in the parking lot that looked like Uncle Rick's truck and we told him he wasn't here with us on this trip but maybe the next one.... (hint hint :-) Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for all of the prayers. We know Jesus heard your prayers, we're still not sure about Grandpa's though. Our next stop is a hotel in Orlando FL. We'll be back then!!

Love,

Wendell, Kiesha, Aliyah, Jada, Frank, & Chris (
Twin City, Georgia, United States schubbefamily... apparantly increased there. I did not leave the hotel room much for a while after hearing some of the awful stories of fellow pipeliners being robbed and harassed. The life of a pipeliner's wife isn't so glamorous anyways though. Alot of dirt work..... clothes washing and such. ((I think I might have been suffering from a touch of homesickness too))
But despite all these hardships there is still a strong sense of community. I ...
Millen, Georgia, United States sethnjessnoblesWe were up very early as we wanted to catch the sun coming up out of the Atlantic. Sadly we were just a little too late and it was already "out of the water". Nevertheless we still got some lovely photos of the early morning beach.

Back at the bus we packed up and showered and were on the road for 9.30. After stopping at two Wal-Marts (!) we finally set off towards Georgia. We crossed the state line on US 17 as we crossed the St Marys river. At Kingsland we took ...
Reidsville, Georgia, United States thebusmonkeys... This place was really quite something, at least ten or twelve storeys high, it is one of the biggest news-gathering operations in the world. We joined the tour of the newsrooms and a fascinating look behind the scenes it was too. While we were not actually allowed onto the newsroom floor, we stood in a gallery above the newsroom and watched the anchors and the news editors in action. With a TV above our heads, we were able to see them ...
Thomson, Georgia, United States robnick... he was hung over. apparently the four Wisconsin guys, Rick, another senior, and a computer graphics guy went to a bar last night with karaoke. lol. they were SO miserable... anyway.... Early, Chi Chi, and i ran around three miles around the old, quaint town. it even had GAS LAMPS on the sidewalks of old bridges.. how beautiful is that?! the run was good until the last half mile. my stomach was quite queasy, so i asked if i ...

Americus, Georgia, United States kforemanHot,Damn Hot is what it gets down South! When I pulled into my parking lot of my motel not only did my lack of air conditioning tell me that today was a hot one,but the fact that I could see steam rising from the puddles in the car park! Yep the water was evaporating before my eyes it was in the mid 90s (35c) but humidity was about 95%, the sort of humidity that sits on your shoulders and makes you long for an ice cold beer. But this ...
Atlanta, Georgia, United States sunnysean... we visit, the sights we see, the people we meet, and the pie we eat. We write about where we are, where we've been, and where we are going, but we also make observations about what we've seen and done as well as about life in general. You can follow our travels from the Daily Journal section of the Round America web site or from this Round ...
Statesboro, Georgia, United States roundamericaWe managed to get lost two additional times today. It appears that one of the great challenges of driving around the country on two-lane roads will be FINDING the darned roads. Highway 8 to Dacula (that's Dracula without the R) just isn't marked clearly. We may need that GPS system that Uncle Ward told us to take. We took a number ...
