... by 2 shots, but struggled in the back 9 holes to lose by a few. The weather in Fort Worth is really warm, into the late 20s and lots of sunshine. The sun and heat took a little out of us during the walks and mini golf so we finished the day outings by gong to a few stores. The different types of pets in the pet stores are awesome, including dumbo rats, hamsters, gerbils and bearded dragons. For dinner we had Popeyes with chicken, mashed potato and ...

10/1 Day 102 We are still camped at Texan RV Ranch and went sightseeing in the Dallas Fort Worth area. We started out going to Dealey Plaza this was the site where John Kennedy was shot. Today is scheduled to be the last day of our trip. 4.5 total hours flying in 2 legs. First stop is in north TX (the panhandle), and then a short 2 hour hop back to Centennial. The weather this morning is dicey. Unlike the forecast, it is largely overcast with 600' ceilings forecast through 10am. All the airports around Fort Worth are showing Light IFR and IFR conditions (Instrument Flight Rules) so we're on ...

... we stopped by a display of airplanes and weaponry. Dan took some pictures of those, too. He learned that this base was once the largest SAC Air Force base (SAC meant airplanes that carried nuclear weapons), but they closed the base (as an AF base) several years ago and made it a joint Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps air base.

We stopped by the commissary (base grocery store) for ...
