We wanted to show Marty aspects of Florida other than the Villages as we all know they are pretty unique. So we thought it would be interesting to visit both sides - Gulf and Atlantic - and decided that our first choice would be the Gulf coast and Clearwater Beach specifically. It is a 2 hour + drive from the Villages but easy along Interstates 75 and 275. Funnily enough there were electronic message signs warning about traffic congestion due to March Break!
