    ... over, we would have been spared! There are far better things to experience in New York in the neighborhoods but I guess we had to do it!

    Anyway back to Washington, We were very impressed with New York's huge Penn Station, and the very comfortable Amtrak train to Washington; arrived at the beautiful Railway Station which was once the largest station in America. A wonderful building! DC is a lovely capital ...

    ... across the other side of the World and having that happen ??? Also, once we got off the plane we followed the signs to baggage claim and it turns out we had to go 2 stops on an underground train to get our bags. Quite strange !!! We got dropped off at the Hotel first which was great. I can't believe I am finally going to see DC. Our apartment is fantastic. Huge and tastefully furnished. Lots of room. Love ...

    We are very pleased to have made the effort to visit Washington, which is truly impressive and has so much about its history. We are now waiting at Union Station for the 3 hour trip home - it was to leave at 7:00 pm, but is now over 90 minutes late and no indication of when it might leave ... This has given us time to write this blog, but think tomorrow might start with a sleep-in!
