We made it to Chattanooga, where we stayed at Homewood Suites! Everyone had their own bed and we were so happy that the first half of the trip was over! The only hiccup we had was there were NO restaurants open on Christmas Day...we were all starving for dinner that we ended up ordering from the only open place: a Waffle House. ... 30ft long arms, covered with aluminum siding and are visible from 20miles. Other denominations have huge streaming billboards.

Some kind of vine grows everywhere and is very evasive – it climbs up big trees and eventually kills them; the ditches, fences, guy wires on power poles and surrounding shrubs are completely covered. It looks nice & green but walking through it is impossible.

The dirt in Tennessee is red, very red.
