... CLT I ever put in my mouth. Lunch is over now it is time to hit the road.

We crossed the Catawba River and not only do we know the name, we can spell it. Well maybe we had a little spelling help from the sign identifying the river.

We listened to the Falcons game and they actually won. At least one of our teams won their game this weekend. Yeah...

... football in the rain. I just barely do football in the sunshine. A little bit of football goes a long way for me. The gang is gone and I am left to my own resources. ... a lemonade drinker but it made a wonderful Arnold Palmer. Stew had a hot dog and the rest of us had burgers. Stew used condiments.... Lunch was good and it was nice to just relax and visit.

... with the tobacco industry and much wealth was generated. Mid week we visited the original Duke Homestead. This was the family home and farm of the Duke family and it was here that their first tobacco factory was located. From here they relocated to the centre of Durham and continued to build their empire which culminated in a 40 million endowment in 1924 being set up to build Trinity College which was later renamed Duke University. ... Apex, a bedroom community of Raleigh where Michelle and family live. The girls were a sight for sore eyes after 27 days on the road. We will stay here for the next few days, enjoying our granddaughters before we make the final trek to Florida. When we are home and settled, I will write my last posting to this blog, with my final thoughts on this very long but very enjoyable trip. Stay tuned. Now…for that comfortable bed…it is calling ...
