... the trolley here and walked around many of the streets looking at all the different houses.

This house has mirrors out the front. They were put there for when ladies visited, they could check their hoop dresses to make sure they were sitting perfectly before they entered the home.

Forsyth Park is where the locals still play all their sports, walk their dogs, go to concerts and just generally ...

Day 8 - Atlanta to Georgia

... the street tho, the rain was very heavy for that short time. Typical tropical weather.

After our seafood dinner, which was awesome by the way, we wandered down River Street. It has lots of restaurants, bars, shops, souvenirs etc. I bought a couple of tops.

The sun decided to come out again which made everything even more humid than it was before.

Backup scribe here again. Awoke to sunshine on the lake, the swan making a snack call. Breakfast of bacon and eggs, then off to town. I spent two hours at the Eighth Air Force Museum while Kath did Camping World and Wally Mart. Around 3pm, we crossed over to South Carolina and visited the Savannah ...

... is very hot and humid. The challenge for early settlers was to stay alive with Yellow Fever and Malaria rampant. The original vision was to build a town without slaves, Catholics or Lawyers. In the event all three became essential for their hard work. The town was built by Scottish peers,trading in cotton and lumber with the labour of slaves and then of Irish labourers on the railroads.

... in the afternoon at Tybee Island dipping our toes in the Atlantic. The ocean was really warm but way to rough to swim. The body surfers were loveing it!

Dinner was a pig out buffet at Paula Deen's!!! Leah, you would have loved it! Everything cooked in butter and then topped with it! Boy, was it good. Eat like that more than once a year though, and you'd look like Paula Deen!
