    Little Time for Everything

A travel blog entry by sweettea on Jul 02, 2015

... paper due here in a week and I'm hesitant not because of the writing of it but instead of the time needed to do it.

These last two- three weeks have been extremely fruitful and worthwhile as I have been finding a balance between being lead, teaching others to lead and leading others. I may not sound that bad but when you are faced with all of them at the same time it is hard to be in all the roles and be present with them all. I have ...

... with just a few sprinkles but we must have timed everything great because there was plenty of wet roads so it seems like we just missed the rain. We headed up 129 today and drove past the Cheoah Dam where The Fugitive was filmed. There wasn't really a good pull off to take pictures plus we were afraid it was going to rain and none of us wanted to do the Dragon in the rain. We got a pretty early start today: the goal was to be on the road between 9:30 and 10 and we did. After we got a picture taken of course. We headed out of Robbinsville on 143 to Hwy 28 S (Moonshiner's 28) to 74 for a little bit before we could get onto 19N. The idea was to stay off 4 lane roads as much as possible: worked on the way out but not so much on the way back to our house (which we still think is great by the ...

Lots of Pictures- Get a feel for the road. I took I 77 west to the tunnel which crossed into West Virginia and took SR-598 to Bluefield where you see the first great vista. 598 hits 19 s to Tazweil where Rt. 16 starts, "The Back of the Dragon". Wow what a ride. I followed 16 to Rt. 58 at the Log Cabin Store in the pictures. Rt. 58 was a surprise because I was expecting rolling curves and country riding ...

    Big Creek Wildflowers

... turned around and started making the hike back towards the car, stopping a few times to see the wildflowers. There were some showy orchis blooming along the trail as wells as some flowering woodland stone crop growing in the rock faces along the trail. It drizzled a bit on the way back, but nothing heavy and soon we were back. We started making the drive home along I-40 east, stopping at Las Salsas in Morganton for a delicious Mexican dinner before heading ...
