Once we got to the first pony gate it was only about a quarter of a mile further before we ran into our first pony pack! Grace, who promised she wouldn't freak out, got so excited that she squealed so hard and almost punched me when she saw her first pony. ... some Amish owned farms. There is a tiny General Store in Burkes Garden that is run by the Amish. We had a great sandwich with homemade sour dough bread. An excellent sandwich and to top it off a bowl of homemade peach ice cream. What a lunch!!

Our first day we took a ride over to Grayson Highlands State Park where they have wild ponies. You have to take a hike of about .8 of mile up to see them. We got lucky and got see about 10 out of the 150 or so ponies. They didn't bother us and we didn't bother them:) They are cute and to thin ...
