... I guess, thus the name Mosquito. It did have a nice view over the Mississippi. Next stop was Phelps House Museum, a nice old house with original furniture. Snake Alley was next to the museums - it is a supposedly the " crookedest street in the world". The downtown was very quiet with an Art Deco theatre and a few shops - no coffee shop, oh for a decent coffee. On the river we pasted through many locks, a raised bridge and swing ...

... in the dark.

When I got to Burlington I grabbed a quick pulled pork sandwich and some potato salad from Dillons BBQ. It was pretty darn tasty! Unfortunately today was a day completely free of pie. ... friend Evans house for pizza, Evan lived just outside Havana in a place called Quiver beach. Pizzahut was back in Havana so we took Evans truck to get the pizza, this thing was more like a monster truck and had the bassiest speakers in the world, i wouldnt mind one of these myself! ... to Mt. Sterling, IL. I was really hoping we'd encounter a Starbucks or a Dunkin' Donuts in the very least, but it wasn't meant to hour and fifteen minutes of cornfields later, we arrived in Mt. Sterling, population 1900, and settled into a McDonald's for their wi-fi. We're staying at the fairgrounds tonight and if they'll let us, we're going to stay there the whole weekend too.

... girls who act like they're afraid of clowns VERY LOUDLY and a man in a store who couldn't wrap his head around John not being embarrassed about being a clown. Hah. The folks at the library were really nice and the gas at Casey's was the cheapest we've seen in awhile ($3.49/gal).

We took off around 11:30am for Carthage, IL and drove through cornfields for an hour...I definitely prefer that to the outskirts of Chicago!
