    Up 5.30am to shower and get ready to travel back to Sonoko and John's house in Whitby. All the Tao families in the area had arranged to meet at Sonoko and John's house to discuss the Retreat that was held last weekend. It was so lovely to catch up with all these lovely people again.     ... are covered walkways going over the roads so covers a number of blocks. When inside it does not seem you are going from block to block. This suits the weather here, where they have deep snow for 6 months a year, so great to have so many things inside. Next Mandy took us to "Coventry Gardens market Place".     ... Monkey sort of weather.

    The usual setup otherwise, lots of blackboard space, maps of the Empire (all that red!) and slates/chalk for rough work as well as composition notebooks and dip pens (and inkwells in the desktops!) for finished stuff. Very different even from what you and I would have experienced. Though my parents could remember a lot of it.
