We spent the night in the RV at Cheaha State Park in Talladega Alabama.
We arrived early enough to take some pics as we headed up the mountain.
Poor RV had a tough time getting up some of the hills. I think we were down to about 15 MPH on a few of the steeper ones. What happens when we get out west :(

... salad for the group in one of the hotel's meeting rooms was met with resounding applause. It was another opportunity to get to know our fellow travellers and enjoy an early evening after an exciting day.
Not looking forward to returning to the snow we heard about this morning. Being in Alabama is like being in summer. The people are friendly and the countryside is beautiful.
... 1938. The Parkway is also designated a National Scenic Byway and All-American Road -- a two lane road that winds among trees on either side. I stayed in an RV park just around the corner from the Visitor Center.
The roads in MS are fairly flat and straight (good for cruise control) with a mixture of pine and deciduous trees lining the roadway. Leaves were giving a last gasp of color (mostly brown).

... and under developed. It had real character with lots of cowboy boots, overalls, bars and awesome live music. We squeezed in a hockey game between the Nashville Predators and the Florida Panthers. One local I spoke to wouldn't believe me that in Australia we play hockey on foot not on ice.
We arrived at Talladega stocked with meat, bread, alcohol and powerades. We had tickets to camp on the infield and knew it was going to be crazy. On the ...
