... from the exit of GM. After a short lunch, we drove on through the Michigan countryside where we viewed our first deer running across an open meadow, a beautiful sight. We also saw quite a few wild turkey by the side of the road.
We reached the Canadian border at Port Huron where we were met with another downpour from the same storm. Our border wait took about five minutes and a pleasant agent welcomed us and we were free to enter. Welcome to Canada, eh!

... are astride Lake Michigan - how much pollution must be going into this Great Lake. Yuk. Didn't look like there was a buffer zone at all. Then we hit rural land - the biggest cornfields I have ever seen, but much of the land was also swampy (I guess from the lake), with lots of bull rushes.
