    ... of school and double checking the stock of harvested canned goods. Best of all.... It was overcast, so the lack of sun's glare was easy on the eyes. I got a pair of those yellow lens driving glasses-wow, what a difference! Let's just say though, if I was a guy wearing them, and had a creepy mustache and van with dark windows and a California sunset painted on the side, kids would run and moms would give me bad looks.     ... in handy, especially on nights like this)!

    This morning we wandered a few steps over the sand dune and down to the beach. Dolphins glided by, crabs scampered about, kids frolicked in the surf, and a slightly overweight pasty white couple waded into the ocean in their underwear…not quite the Norman Rockwell painting, but close enough for us. After packing up, we took a much needed and enjoyed cool shower before hitting the road again.

    We left the Courtyard Marriott, caught the metro one stop to Union Station. Checked the luggage in for our Amtrak to Wilson, North Carolina. Why there, you ask? This is where Liv spends the next 3 months as a camp counsellor at a Girl Scout summer camp. Liv had a few days off and spent them in Washington with Karen and I.
