Just when you think you are over the travel demons, they bite back. 3 hours sleep overnight and Carol not much more. ... it - awkwardly placed. On into USA, another interrogation, another stamp. Caught a 1 hour taxi into Buffalo NY. At the airport is the Anchor Bar, famously the inventor of Buffalo Wings. They were delicious, as were the malty local beers. An hour flight to Detroit, Michigan, another hour layover, and an hour flight to Washington DC. Everyone was very excited to get out and stretch their legs. We had our first campfire of the vacation. Since it was so late "no fun mommy" decided that we would hold off on S'mores until tomorrow night. Connor's response: "Well then I'm going inside. Good night." Apparently our company is only tolerable if he is eating chocolate and marshmallow!
Off to explore D.C. tomorrow!
This morning we woke up at about 8 o'clock, ate some breakfast, and walked from the Britain Embassy to the Japan Embassy. The walk was rather short, it was about half a mile. The walk was somewhat calm and peaceful there are many luscious trees between the embassies.
Since we've been at the embassy we have gotten the opportunity to learn some interesting things about Japan. Such as:
4 days in Washington DC is just not enough. You need a lot, lot longer if you wish to see everything this great city has to offer.
