... be open when the ride returns are fast food restaurants. The small downtown area will be closed.

One sad note - Kudzu is starting to overrun the edges of the train route. It covers the banks of the railroad track and surrounding trees for the first few miles, encasing everything including trees. It even covered a truck that had been left in a parking lot. Kudzu is so envasive, it reminds me of the scene in ...
Bryson City, North Carolina, United States dave-sue-rvLeft Justin's this morning around 8:30 or so and I drove us over to Asheville where Sumner and I picked up Lola, the RV. I'll say it...she's a beaut. We had a slightly rough start with the stupid GPS taking us through residential area's galore, so far from necessary when you're driving a huge RV. We went to Walmart and stocked up some food and had the pleasure of crossing paths with a couple cool people. The corner of the Walmart parking lot looked like an RV park itself. This ...

He encouraged us to travel the Cades Cove Loop, instead, which runs along the far western side of the park, and includes a number of the original Appalachian homes, churches and farmsteads of the early pioneers in the area. One of the ...
Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee, United States pykesonthegoWe left Crittenden Kentucky this morning at 9 AM, traveling south on I-75 and picking up I-40 in Tennessee. It was pretty much a standard travel day for us, covering about 250 miles total, with a half hour or so lunch stop around Noon time. We stopped at a very busy Tennessee Welcome Center (that's where we made our sandwiches and ate lunch) to pick up brochures so we could make good use of our one day in the Smoky Mountains ...
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States pykesonthego... that they have finally developed that area and the riverfront. I had always wanted it like that when I lived there, but I must say that on a Friday Night before a home football game it is not fun to drive around there. We finally land at a Buddy’s BBQ which is fine. At this point my head is killing me and I hardly eat anything other than my fries dipped in the baked beans. We hit the Kroger ...
Knoxville, Tennessee, United States psubrat93... Lodge rates are very reasonable and they have several activities on the property. Most every weekend Bluegrass Band out on the large deck with a nightly campfire (every night) surrounded by rocking chairs to just sit back and enjoy. Restaurant on property with great homestyle food and Riverstone's guest get a discount. You can even walk down to the river (wow) be there in 1 minute. Large salt water swimming pool. Goldfish ponds ...
Townsend, Tennessee, United States smokeymountains... We haven't decided if we're gonna take the park or not!?!?

Pigeon Forge is like a mini Vegas for kids. The Street is lit up for miles with tons of miniature golf, go carts, shows and of course shops. We got in pretty late so we didn't stop to check any of that out. We're probably gonna do that today has well as make our way through The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Till next time, Peace out!

Jess and Nic
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, United States nicandjessicaIt has been many years since I've been in Cherokee and little has changed except for the Casino which is undergoing major expansion. We were nestled into a nice RV park with a brook flowing through it. Cherokee is close to many attractions and we enjoyed our stay there.
Cherokee, North Carolina, United States captrick... from the trees and plants. While visiting the national Park many tourist choose to stay in Gatlinburg cabin rentals or Gatlinburg chalets rentals. With over 10,000 accommodations in Gatlinburg it can still be hard to find lodging during the peak season of tourist travel during the year. Gatlinburg Tennessee is home to many music festivals and seasonal events, one of the most popular being the Winter Festival of lights. The city is converted ...
