    ... all the Harley's, it looked very out of place. Even though Main Street was closed off to all other vehicles there was very little parking and they were charging between $5 and $7 dollars down some of the adjoining streets which were also closed off the only free parking was on the pavement on Main Street.

    ... maybe that's why the hotels were cheap, it's also known for racing. Original land speed records were set here on the long compacted beach. This was until the vehicle power was too much for the loose surface. It was also the place for the biggest race in the US. Daytona 1000. That's a 1000 mile stock car race.
