Yesterday the power steering went out in the car we tow behind the motorhome. We were not able to get it repaired in Cortez so we were forced to come home early and take it to the dealer in Homosassa. We dropped the car off today and hopefully we will have it back by the weekend. Having something break down on a trip is not uncommon when traveling in ...

Today we slept in a little, packed up and left Crystal Isles RV resort. We stopped in downtown Crystal River for a little souvenir shopping and an early lunch. The only shops open were dive shops, but we found a few things. Lunch was at Crackers by the water. The food was good and it was nice to look out at Kings Bay. Today was the first time the wind has laid off the entire time ...

Alas, we saw no manatees, but it was good to get a few miles in on the SUP. Darin did some fishing. I'm sure he will update on that later. Teaser - he did catch stuff and he did get wet! After our paddle, Piper and I went to the pool. It was decent, but then the gnats/n see-ums came out and I had to bail ...

... really likely that you are suddenly surrounded by 30 snorkelers at once (I have no idea why that shouldn’t disturb the manatees). The manatees, however, took the crowds more relaxed than we did. When we arrived in the lagoon, the number of other people was still okay, but a few minutes later, it was so crowded that we couldn’t wait to escape (the best option to avoid the crowds would probably be to come here with your own kayak at 6 clock in the morning. We arrived at 9 ...

This was a large campground with about half permanent sites. We were in the back in a nice wooded spot to ourselves. We visited Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. We say lots of West Indian manatees along with many eagles, alligators, flamingos and so many more birds and animals. We had a wonderful day here at the park. Our friend Sonny came over to visit too. Then we went to his place to visit another ...
