    ... we were on honeymoon ;-) Afterwords we strolled to a nearby fountain, which was very pretty, and now as I write this we are sitting in a pub, sharing a pumpkin wheat beer :-) We get back on the Amtrak in about 2 hours, and it's then on to Denver! We get in at about 7am, so wish us luck getting to sleep! Albeit a short stay, Omaha really helped us to recharge our batteries, and we had some great food and visited a fantastic zoo - all in all, a fantastic pit stop! ...

    Council Bluffs, could it be the Las Vegas of the Midwest? We drove through the sparsely populated states of Nebraska and Iowa and happened across a city of lights, in the middle of nowhere... Casinos were everywhere, seriously, every corner. We pricelined our way into a hotel attached to a casino on a boat. Took a total of 5 dollars into the casino. Played some penny slots. Left with 5 dollars. ...

    ... lots of mosaics and gilt. I was impressed.

    Just past that we drove past a chapel like the one in Arkansas I want to see. We took the next exit and found our way to the Holy Family Shrine. Simple and elegant.

    Then on to the Mormon trail center in Florence where Winter Quarters was. I was not as impressed, or maybe I've seen too many that look very similar. But it was good ...

    This is the first chance I've had to say hi to everyone. It has been a flury of activity for the last few days.
