Ouf! il fait chaud
En partant de San Antonio, nous arrêtons à Corpus Christi et après une visite au visitor center nous décidons de camper sur l'ile Padre Island. Le camping est dans un state park et sur le bord de la mer. C'est très tranquille et la plage est déserte même s'il fait plus de 35 degrés, 44 humidex!. Nous restons 3 jours.Nous devons utiliser l'air climatisé pour réussir à dormir! Pardon d'être arrogante!

around the outside of several old homes that had been relocated to this central
location. We then headed back to the
campground, stopping at Wal-Mart for some food, a gas station and a car wash to
wash the truck.

... was a wealth of information on the park
including 2 short films and a very informative staff. We learned that the massive amount of seaweed
that is covering all of the beaches along the coast is sorgum that originated
in the Atlantic and is an annual event in April thru June. We took a short walk on the beach, battling
the wind and the seaweed. We then
returned to the campground via Corpus Christi.

... Lavaca. We were looking for a working lighthouse to climb and photograph, but all we found was a small lighthouse maybe 20 feet high, that looked more like the decoration for a real estate office. We proceeded south on state road 35, through vast fields of young corn, it seemed that the fields stretched to the horizon. In the town of Aransas Pass we located the “Ransom Road RV Park”, arriving at about 5:00.

Getting a slower start this morning we traveled back to Galveston to continue down the coast, one thing for sure our beaches so far look a lot better than the ones here. The houses that are along the beach are all up on tall pilings. There are really not that many compared to what we see at home. Most of them are newer, I guess that the Hurricanes ...
