... The oldest brother Chal, was described to us by our breathless, and extremely irritating tour operator, as a "Real Live Shaman!" (he referred to us in emails as "my girls"). Chal himself says that he retired from the Shamaning business many years ago. He found that frequent hallucinations (without chemical stimulus) about dead people, and sensing imminent deaths, was not compatible with family life. Rest Day. Monday 20th October. We all took a day's rest today. Google said the drive from Alamos to Chihuahua was 7.5 hours, but the roads were mountainous, curvaceous, and some of the women in the Sonoran charro bars. I got there in 10 hours. My GoPro battery was dead, so no 16x the speed, it might've been a nauseous ride anyway. It was a loooong day on the road. Intermittent stretching was crucial. I learned exactly how far one tank of gas could ...

... Copper Canyon Real. Unfortunately the day we were to leave Creel the only ATM was out of order and we only carried limited funds in cash. The ticket office in the train station was closed so we ended up doing the bus with the locals to Divisadero which was fantastic. Lots of noise and smells!! and they seemed to be transporting everything but the kitchen sink. Copper canyon next blog ...
