The Days Inn motels are a chain of motels and associated restaurants that are built on many of the sidings on the UK Motorways. They are just average accommodation but they give you an opportunity to break your journey and they are usually near a major town or small city.

... Uncovered in the evening as arranged, at the Horizon Bar to pay for our room. It`s then off to Vios, to have a pizza, which is fine. They also have wifi and some smart seats, not a bad place. Are aware of another general strike called for two days and they are even managing to go on strike twice in one day! Leaves a window for the tourist planes to get in but, as the second half of the strike is between 18-00 and 22-00 it dosn`t give ...

... restaurants called Sam's Diner which provided massive quantities of American food. Much of which was deep-fried in some kind of oily batter and contained potatoes, what in America counts as cheese, bits of salad, and other hard to identify greasy fare, as well as copious quantities of rather pleasant chips, which seem to be the ideal food for hungry cyclists if not for ladies. After this we repaired to the bar for another glass of wine, before retiring. Ladies Day was ...

      Grand Chester

A travel blog entry by traveling_red on Jun 06, 2009

Next we headed to Chester, which is in England.

We got 2 and a half hours to explore. The city has many old buildings and a beautiful cathedral which we snuck into for free. HA! Screw you institution!

Anyway, we also wandered along the walls around the city, but I didn't think they were as nice as the one in York.

We got back to the ...
