Days Inn Brownsville

Meghan and I were able to shoot the 300 Mag. in this afternoon. We were not able to find and Elk life size target for practice, but had to settle for this Whitetail Deer. She shot this target and scored in the Harvest Zone from 100, 200, 250 & 300 Yards.
All we need now is the Elk to walk out in front of her once we are hunting.

... with my little girl, and hopefully we will have some
life long memories. I hope my Iphone works while we are hunting the Routt National Forest.
Up to date hunting and trip photos would be nice for everyone to enjoy. I will keep everyone posted.

Hello All. We have really enjoyed our stay in Brownsville, TX to visit Jerry's parents. We don't see them often and it is always bittersweet when the visit nears an end.

We went out for a casual dinner with the parents and Jerry's brother, Juan, and wife Vivian. Then it was back to the hotel to begin packing up our belongings.

It is always a must to spend some time on South Padre Island. SPI is located about 20 minutes from Brownsville. Alex now knows about the "beach". He did not want to leave.

... Padre Island to have dinner at Amberjack's. I had a fabulous surf 'n' turf dinner with filet mignon and Alaskan King Crab legs...yummmm!!

Dinner took a long time to arrive at our table, so of course dessert was on management. Don't worry...I did not partake of the sinful decadence.

The day has finally arrived. Mille and I are not sure how to feel knowing what we are getting ourselves into in the natural, but the conclusion I've come to is this:
I'd rather be in the will of God.

... in the cheap clothing they've bought. There's a meal, fashion show, comedy acts, karaoke - anything for a party, go figure! Observed: · Water towers - Every surrounding town & city has their own exceptionally large water tower with the city name clearly emblazed on each. Some also have the logo of the area's favorite sports team, caricature of a famous local personality i.e. singer Freddy Fender, NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson, Cowboys coach Tom Landry, the 1st President of ...

... Brownsville was fine but area right along the highway are heavily flooded. We got some quick pictures without getting out of the car or stopping. Brownsville was everything the good ole USA is known for, lots of fast food, strip malls and flashing lights. We ate at the Golden Coral and get a Starbucks. The day seems long it was 600 miles from where we started in the morning.

... for a while. Then on Monday we went to Progreso, Mexico with people here from the RV Park. Wet Cold, and Muddy! but now we know how to get to both towns, and cross the boarder and get back so when the weather breaks next week (Sat or Sun) before the next cold front comes through we will go to the beach and I may even get to surf fish for a while. Everyone here is saying that this is the worst they have seen it weather ...

One reason I'm taking the coastal route of course is that I’ve already done the Laredo Route, including police fine for littering, so this is new. Who knows what you’ll find around every bend, right? Also there’s a dirt cheap flight from Harlingen to Houston ...
