... I'm going to start looking for a picture of my dad and maybe send it to him for a commissioned piece of his artwork.

After spending more time that we expected (and we could have spent much more) we headed out for a nice lunch and then we were on our way to visit the wife of Nick's mentor from his first job out in Los Angeles.

Thanks Heather and Doug for the most wonderful time in your spectacular home and surrounding area.

After a rest, a play on the playground and laundry duties we went into Banning for dinner. Stopped at a Sizzler. Great choice of restaurant. Mercina and I both had a surf and turf ...

The views from the top are endless – in theory – but the 360 degree panorama was subdued by the pollution that hangs over southern Cali – it is soooo murky down here! But it was nice at the top swapping geeky hiking stories with the various people while I mustered up the energy to clamber down the 4500ft to the car.
