And yes I forgot to add, the best part is actually free visit to all the museums. For two days visitors can visit all the museums free of cost in Balboa park. Now isn't it icing on the cake.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 9 -- David is back! David, my favorite nurse, has been MIA for 2 or 3 days, but he's back today. I'm so glad, as he's so much fun, and I enjoy talking with him. This time we walked (with my walker) up and down the hall as we talked. After breakfast, my other favorite, Claude (my physical therapist) showed up to walk with me on crutches. I talked with him about the travel-back-home situation, and he feels Michelle can ride in the ambulance ...

SUNDAY, JULY 6 -- The Gardens Michelle arrived after lunch and helped me with my walk down the hall using my walker. Then she got a wheelchair and took me down to the hospital's gardens. It was my first time out since June 30, so it was a real treat, and the gardens were beautiful. (See photos.) There were walkways and benches among the plantings and trees. THURSDAY, JULY 3 -- On the way to recovery. This is the day after surgery, and Claude, my physical therapist has already been to my room and brought a walker with him! Besides showing me exercises I can do with my leg in bed, he has me out of bed and hopping with my left leg with the walker around the room. Gee, the French work fast!
