... for a plan B (get a 6 month visa en-route). We'll try our luck with China next week.....
For all other countries requiring visas we'll have to apply on arrival at the airport (and keep our fingers crossed that we can get them without insane waiting times) or find somewhere on route to get them issued.

3) Buying backpacks
After much debate, we went with wheeled backpacks for the adults and kid specific ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada delsar... willpower to learn and to grow. That is why I'm leaving, why I'm going to be sailing into the sun, to be baptized there.

On September 2nd I leave for Australia, and I'm keeping this blog to not only entertain everyone at home who's curious, but also to keep track of myself. Through Australia, India, and then Hawaii, eight months (or perhaps longer) of experiences will be documented through this, and I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I will!
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada stuggin... never returned to the Government House. As Janet explained Alberta is unique because it has always had majority governments so anything the government decides passes. Janet is a retired teacher who works as a tour guide to keep busy. After the tour I took a photo of her in front of the Guide Station and then I was off to the Muttart Conservatory which was closed but I wanted to at least take a photo of it. But I never got to the Conservatory. I decided to travel elsewhere.
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada mgraveli... 5 days and then to New Zealand for a month, Australia for a month, Thailand for 2 weeks (provided there is no civil unrest), Greece for a month, Italy and France for a month, Ireland for about 6 days, New York for 4 days and then home. Wierd. I've never done anything like this before...seems a bit cooky. Wish us luck! Luv Deanne & Kris
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada deannekristin... much more vivid that Latin America and I'm struggling to deal with it. We found it frustrating to drive around Edmonton. It should be easy as the city is built as a grid with avenues in one direction and streets in the other, and all numbered and in order but avenues and streets would have a dead end, only to resume a block or two down once you had driven around the obstacle. I would have thought that streets or avenues that don't join up would have been given different names ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada nancydeb... arcade. These are back-in sites. Lots 125 and 126 are also nice treed lots. Again near the showers and the Store. For a little privacy the sites we think are best are lots 24, 24 and 26. They are treed and in a corner area. There is also a restaurant that is open for lunch and supper. Also if you want t book any of these spots make sure you phone ahead to reserve them!!
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada rickfay... lake' so you can see the fishes. I rode a Segway. The demo organizer tried to convince me it would be a better way to get to work but I worked out it would take about an hour to get to where I used to work which is not much use when you over sleep as much as I do - oh yeah and I'd look like a tit. Apparently the police use them and I'm curious to see them in pursuit of a criminal cause you can't actually shoot from them (they rely on on balance to control ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada lightweight... when the temperatures are 33 C for days in a row. I don't know what to do about her black fur coat that she just refuses to part with. I fear that this weather will cook her. Oh...speak of the devil, here she is at my feet staring up at me with her expectant eyes with her favorite shoelace in tow. That said, I am just about to head over to the hot yoga studio. Today is my last official class of the 30 Day Challenge, if I want to finish a day early. I am actually on day ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada whereshegoes... famous. We didn't have time for such things. We motored back to Bourbon Street where we were going to watch the hockey game. I decided to take him to my favorite dessert place instead and watch the game there while satiating our sweet tooth. This is a tradition with us. We chatted and watched the Ottawa Senators lose to the Anaheim Ducks while munching on our salads. When the cheesecake topped banana split came, we were ready. Oh boy. I slurped up as much of the ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada whereshegoes... a good time, between a comedy fest that we found by accident, a groovy Irish pub (to celebrate Aleks' birthday) , and some downtown shopping. We nearly missed our 6am bus to Banff due to some late night birthday-partying, but we made it... and on to Banff it was... with some good old squished bread and peanut-butter on the bus... the breakfast of champions! :o)
